About DLC

Since 1974, Daily Living Centers has provided rest and hope for caregivers. We are Oklahoma’s first and leading adult day provider for senior adults and adults with disabilities ages 18 and older. We have three locations in that offer non-residential affordable day services 246 days a year in an environment that enhances mind, body, and spirit. We serve Oklahoma, Logan, Cleveland, and Canadian County.

While attending Daily Living Centers our “participants” enjoy healthy meals, exercise programs, socialization, activities, and outings that meet their individual needs. We have a fleet of 16 vehicles including limos and wheelchair accessible vans that provide door-to-door transportation and med rides. We are currently serving ages 18 to 102!

Many of our participants have physical and/or mental limitations or suffer from isolation and depression. Common diagnoses found in those we serve include dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, stroke, traumatic brain injury, autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. Caregivers often refer to our services as being “like a warm hug.”

Our Story

We were initially founded in 1974 as a therapeutic day care center for impaired, homebound and elderly people. The pilot program was organized by a group of individuals in partnership with Areawide Aging and the YMCA.

In 1977, the program operated out of the basement of the First Presbyterian Church. It was officially incorporated and the name “Daily Living Centers” as we know it today, was born.

In 1980, we earned our United Way designation, and we’ve been growing ever since.

Of special importance to our history was the 1987 hire of Bill Weaver as our Executive Director. Mr. Weaver led our growth for 29 years, and while he is no longer with us, his contributions to adult day health care live on. Our Bethany Center bears his name to honor his memory.

Under Bill’s leadership, we became the 1st licensed adult daycare facility in Oklahoma. We moved into our first building and opened three additional locations so we could serve more people throughout the metro area.

In December of 2022, we moved to our new Edmond facility, a new and larger location, to better serve our current participants and caregivers and grow to serve even more.
